Fortnite – Travel distance using Kinetic Ore – Ultimate Proppa Guide – Chapter 4 Season 1

Soggydan Fortnite, Fortnite Guides, Fortnite Quests 27 December 2022

Travel distance using Kinetic Ore is a weekly quest in Chapter 4 Season 1. It involves charging up one of the Kinetic Blocks at Shattered Labs and standing on it while it launches into the air. You will need to do this a few times to cover all the distances required to complete the quest.

There are 5 stages in total with stage 5 needing 1000m to complete.

Fortnite – Travel distance using Kinetic Ore

Where can i find Fortnite Kinetic Ore?

Kinetic Ore can be found all over the open mine located at Shattered Slabs. In its “uncharged” state it is a Dark Blue/purple in colour. There are many large blocks of Kinetic Ore all over the mine.

Fortnite - Travel distance using Kinetic Ore - Location
Fortnite – Travel distance using Kinetic Ore – Location

What is Fortnite Kinetic Ore?

Kinetic Ore is mined and used to manufacture and the Smithing of weapons in Fortnite Chapter 4, or so it would seem to me.  It is a part of the story lore for this Chapter and so far, we have been introduced to 2 weapons. The Ore is mined at the aptly named, Shattered Slabs.

I hope we see more Kinetic Ore inspired items like the some sort of long distance weapon like a Trebuchet Catapult launching Ore at your apponenet, yeah i am sure there are better ideas.

  • Shockwave Hammer
  • Ex-Caliber Rifle

How to Travel distance using Kinetic Ore

The first thing you need to do is find a slab at the mine in a good a location with a bit of room around it so it can be launched into the air for max distance. Start hitting it with your harvesting tool and it will start to change colour from a dark blue to a purple, then to pink as it is charged with Kinetic energy. It would seem the stones store up the energy and then release it at critical mass point!

As you charge it with kinetic energy you will see a purple beam appear directing away from the slab, you can move this around a bit by hitting the slab in different ways to direct it. Aim high into the sky to a location with no trees for max clear distance.

You can also use normal weapons to charge the Kinetic Slab, SMG, Rifle, grenades etc all will charge it with energy so you can run towards it while shooting then jump onto it and get launched. This takes some practice but is doable.

Fortnite – Travel distance using Kinetic Ore – Charging

Once the slab is near max Kinetic energy storage (it gets brighter and brighter) jump on top of it, you will then get launched into the air while riding the slab and ride it out that mine in style. You can do this once or twice per slab before it gets completely destroyed and you have to find another slab.

Tips:

  • If you like a bit of quiet while playing in the mine, stock up on heals then head to the mine, just complete the quest during the early storm phases and heal up.
  • You don’t have to launch into the air, you can glide along the ground also covers traveling.

My Hero Academia Bonus Goals – Acquire Deku’s Smash

Deku’s Smash (very similar to the Kamehameha during Dragon Ball) is one of the items that gives you the huge force power laser beam thing while floating. You can find it in one of the MHA create drops, keep an eye out for the on the mini map.

They also can be purchased with gold from vending machines, all very similar to the Dragon Ball event.

Search Ice Machines or Cash Registers at Gas Stations – Chapter 4 Season 1

Soggydan Fortnite, Fortnite Guides, Fortnite Quests 17 December 2022

The basic concept of this quests, is to travel to any of the Fortnite Gas Stations on the island and look for the Ice Machines or Cash Registers, Sometimes the quest is to search both. Open them the required amount of times, in this case 3 times to complete the quest for 1K XP.

Where are the Gas Stations with Ice Machines and Cash Regsiters

Gas Stations are dotted around the map, there are 5 Gas Stations in total with both Ice machines and Cash Registers. These are not to be confused with Gas Pumps, these are not Stations and so will not work for the quest, we need Stations. But not all Stations have both Ice Machines and Cash Registers. Here are the Gas Stations that have both Ice machines and Gas Registers so you can complete the quest in one visit much faster.

Gas Stations Fortnite Locations Map Chapter 4 Season 1 v23.00
Gas Stations Fortnite Locations Map Chapter 4 Season 1 v23.00

Where are the Gas Stations in Chapter 4 Season 1

Only 5 Locations for pumps on the island in Chapter 4 Season 1 but only 4 are real Gas Stations, Use these 4 for the Quest. I still think new areas of the island will get ported into the island by the Zero Point so I think we will see more locations added soon.

  1. Beep N Bounce Gas Station
  2. Lonely Labs Pump Station – Wont count as a Gas Station but still worth knowing about.
  3. Slappy Shores Gas Station
  4. Slap N Go Gas Station
  5. Hitches and Ditches Gas Station

Search Cash Registers

Once you arrive at a Gas Station the Cash Registers will be inside the main shop area. Find and search them, don’t forget to collect and Gold Bars you find in the register. gold bars can be used to buy items like weapons, med kits and even the chugg gun from a Fortnite NPC, gold bars can also be used to hire your very own Fortnite NPC Mercenary to help in your fight. You may also find Ammo Crates and Produce Boxes in the shop, it’s well worth opening all these not just for the items but a small bit of XP and the Milestone Quests rewards you will get, all that XP adds up to faster levelling.

Search Cash Registers
Search Cash Registers

Search Ice Machines

Ice machines will be found just outside the shops at the gas stations, just like real gas stations, sometimes they are round the side but they wont be too far away. Ice machines can also be found at other locations on the island but only ones at gas stations will work for the quest.

In Ice machines you will find all sorts of frozen produce that will help restore health and shields, you tend to find a lot of frozen fish. During events you will sometimes find speed bursts for increase running or food that will make you jump higher, lots of fun can be found in Ice machines, not just Ice Creams!

Fortnite Gas Stations Chapter 3

Soggydan Fortnite, Fortnite Guides 6 December 2022

This Page is now an Archive for Fortnite Gas Stations Chapter 3, current page is Fortnite Gas Stations

Knowing the Gas Stations and Gas Pumps in Fortnite is essential if you are going to utilise vehicles. Without gas you’re not going to get very far in your car, lorry or tank, or even a speedboat for that matter.

If your planning on using the Whiplash Fortnite Car then your going to need all the Petrol station locations to hand

Here are all the Gas Stations or Gas Pumps that you can re-fuel your vehicle at on the Fortnite Island. Feel Free to Print it out.

1. Logjam Junction Gas Station

Spillexx Gas Station, just West of Logjam Junction. Normally pretty quiet but if Darth Vader lands just north of here, it can get busy.

2. Star Gas Stations at Sleepy Sound

There is also 2 gas Pumps at the rear of the Station to service boats. This is my favourite place to land as it has most items you will need including the ability to hire an NPC Mercenary, Fishcakes.

3. Loot Lake Gas Pumps

Have never found this to be a great drop location but you should pick up some good loot while here

No longer on the Map

10. Shroom Station

Another busy drop location, you will find this a through way from Reality Falls when the storm closes in. Always fun to be had here! Not a great deal of change to the stations since Season 3 but the vegitation is looking a bit dry.

15. Greasy Grove Gas Station

I never liked this loaction,  too many sweats drop here and hang about hiding, odd place. Lots fo loot to be collected but too many campers. The Stations has had a little revamp since last season and the vergitation is looking a bit on the dry side.

17. Chonker’s Speedway – Gas Pumps

My Second favourite place on the map, lots going on, lots of loot and chests to be opened. If ya quick, grab a Cow Catcher for the front of a Whiplash Car so it’s ready if you need to make a quick exit.

Seems a lot of players drop just south of here so you will have a few players to eliminate once your “tooled up”

Another cool hang out that is now super busy. I love the now suspended idea, I don’t think this will work against the Chrome though, it will get them eventually!
